Make Every Day Count

Today I want to cover a serious topic ahead of Christmas. If you saw my tweet last night you may understand why I am writing this.
Recently in the news, there has been so many tragedies where people's loved ones have been taken away from them right before Christmas (which I'm sure most of you have heard about). I can't begin to imagine how it must feel to have someone you love taken away from you at this time of year especially when it is about being with family and loving the people around you.

Yesterday in particular it hit me. Life is unpredictable. You never know what could happen tomorrow and yet we are still selfish and unappreciative of everything. It's not right! I hear people say how much they don't like their parents or a certain family member but why? Why don't you like them? They're still you're family no matter what. They rely on you to pick them up and help them learn through their journey through life. Some people don't have their loved ones to share precious moments with.

I know two people who will both be spending this Christmas without their mothers for the first time. I can't imagine what that must feel like for them. It's not fair. Life's not fair but we must appreciate what we have because tomorrow is another day and everything we know could be ripped from us. I would never wish something like that on anyone because I think this is one of the worst things that could ever happen to us.

I'm sorry to put such a downer on you just a couple of days before Christmas but I feel like this needed to be said. If you don't take anything else from this, please just remember to be grateful and show love to you're family this Christmas and just remember there are people who are struggling from loosing a lost one right this moment and keep those people in you're mind one day (touch wood that it isn't) it could be you.

If you are ever needing to talk to someone about a difficult time then please don't hesitate to tweet me asking for help, message me on Instagram or even leave a comment in this post. I'm always here for you all.

Thank you for reading.

Christmas Wish List 2014

It's almost Christmas!!! I need a moment. Christmas is most definitely my favourite time of year because it's a time for loving, sharing and appreciating those around you. I have been struggling so much to think of things to get this Christmas as I feel I don't need very much. However, there are a few bits and bobs which I would like very much so I decided I would make use of these items and share them with you!

Urban Decay - Naked Palette
I have wanted the Naked palette for probably a year now but I have bottled out of it each time because I hate to think I had spent that much on eye shadow when I didn't really wear it, but recently I have become more adventurous with make up so why not get it! There are so many amazing reviews about it and I'm sure all of you reading this will have heard of it before.

Leather Jacket
I should have really asked for this before Autumn as it is Autumn attire but I seriously want one so bad! I feel as if I will get so much use out of it and it will bring together a lot of my outfits which is why I want one so much! I'm hoping to find one that's not too expensive as I would feel really bad if a member of my family bought a jacket for £60 for me just for Christmas! If you have seen any stores that sell really nice leather jackets for less than £50 then please comment below for me!

Real Techniques Brushes
There are so many people on Youtube and who run a blog who use Real Techniques brushes. There are so many positive reviews on these brushes. The only down side is they can be very expensive, especially for someone my age who is still in school. I often have to find alternatives to the brushes and I have found good alternatives but there are some alternatives which aren't very good which is why I would love to have the originals.

Yankee Candles for the New Year
If you know me you will know that my love for candles gets stronger each day and there is nothing I love more than a change of seasons as it means a change of candles! I love to have a good range of scents as then they can match my mood and help me relax after a stressful school day.

Money in General

Finally is money/gift cards. We all know that getting money for Christmas can often be better than actual gifts of some members of your family. Instead of them getting what they  think you'll like, you can just go and spend the money how you would like to. I personally am going on a trip to London next year with my school and I would like to save up for it so my mum doesn't have to pay as much. As my birthday will be after the trip I am trying to think ahead and start saving now instead! I'm so excited! It is London after all! Gift cards are also a simple thing to ask for from more distant family for your favourite store e.g boots, h&m, starbucks, itunes.

I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some inspiration for Christmas!
What kind of presents would you like from your family this year?

October Favourites

Hi Everyone!

Today I will be sharing my October Favourites with you! There are so many things I have been loving this month but I have whittled it down to my top few for you.

Wake Me Up Concealer Ivory
My makeup favourite has been the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I have had way too many late nights this month and this has been my morning savior. I don't really know how to describe this product except that it does its job well! This has always been a staple in my makeup bag and I think it always will be due to it's reliability.

Moisturiser of the month goes to Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser. I have discovered this moisturiser on the quest to reduce my oily skin. After only a couple of days, the oil had noticeably reduced. I have found it doesn't stop all the oiliness of my skin but it didn't cost much and has also reduced the amount of spots I get! Simple is a brand that is also good for people with sensitive skin and make sure their products won't make your skin break out so I recommend this to all of you, even those with sensitive skin.

Highslide JS
I have had my Tangle Teezer for a while now but I have loved it more than usual this month as my hair has been especially out of control! I own the Compact Styler in Pink. It is so much easier than a normal hair brush and it doesn't pull at your hair whilst trying to get out those mischievous knots. I bought this from Duty Free when going on holiday last year and I can honestly say it was a life saver after being in the pool all day and having the task of brushing your hair after long pool or beach days. I would recommend this 110%. There are various styles of the Tangle Teezer such as Aqua or even the Original, just choose depending on which suites you!

Next up is Soap and Glory - Rich and Foamous Shower Gel. I absolutely love this product! The mix of Almond, Oats and Brown Sugar lasts on your skin for hours and makes your skin feel soft and smooth. It comes in a massive bottle which I have found lasts ages! I don't know how to describe how much I love this product but I'm so glad I bought it.

My favourite store this month has been Lush. Lush has always been one of my favourite stores, however I hadn't been there in a while until the beginning of the month. Since then I have been in around 10 times this month! Addicted doesn't cover it! The various smells from the entrance of the shop just draw me in and the explosion of colour is just as inviting. The lack of animal testing is another positive for an animal lover like me and the variation of scents and products add to it! You can always be guaranteed a surprise when using one of the products and I find that they all smell delicious and complete a relaxing bath! Am I the only one who feels like that?

My music favourite this month has been Taylor Swift. I have loved going on Spotify and listening to all her old songs: Love Story, You Belong With Me, Mine, White Horse etc. They are a great way to relax and even good songs to listen to while doing homework. In fact I'm listening to them while writing this! I have always loved her older music and she never fails to disappoint.

My Owl Candle from Primark has been a favourite this month. It is a small grey hand painted owl with a sweet vanilla scent. I have had this candle for months now but have never brought myself to start burning it until now! It isn't a seasonal scent which is why I am taking my time to burn it. The scent isn't too strong but isn't that weak that you can't smell it that much; it's the perfect balance. I don't know what I'm going to do when it finishes! I love it too much to throw away! My slight obsession with owls is too strong.

I hope you've enjoyed my first favourites post!

Halloween - Last Minute Costumes

Hi Everyone!

As we all know, one of my favourite times of year is on Friday! I love the Halloween festivities but sometimes planning the perfect costume can be so difficult that you end up with nothing to wear days before (me right now). So for all us last minute people I decided to make a post about last minute costumes. I have linked the items that I have found to their website if there was a specific one.

Devil

A devil costume is easy enough! All you need is a truck load of red!
- Bright Red Lips and Red Eye shadow and Thick Black Liner
- Red Nails

Cat

Cat costumes are more about the accessories and makeup than the actual outfit.

I would recommend:
- Long fake nails
- Black cat eye makeup and red lips (Credit to Niomi Smart for Pictures)
- Whiskers! (Credit to Niomi Smart)

Witch

A witch is one of the easiest costumes as you can put on basically any dark colour you own and focus on the makeup again

I would use:
- Spider Hair Pins or a Witch Hat
- Black Lips
- Dots of Eyeliner to make Warts etc.
- Broom Stick
- Back Combed Hair

Pumpkin

This one could be slightly trickier but will be worth it!
- Orange Nails
- Makeup (optional)

Ghost

One of the most blank but effect costumes.
- Ghost Tights (optional)
- Black eye makeup and white base and lips
- White hair bow
- White ribbon tied to arms and wrapped into plaits

I hope you enjoyed these last minute ideas and that they've helped some of you with your costumes. This post was very different to my usual posts. Let me know if you like outfit ideas and would like seasonal ones!
What are you going as this Halloween?

Lush Review - Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb

 Hi Everyone!

A couple of nights ago, I used the 'Lush Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb'. This was the first time I had ever used it and I have instantly fell in love with it.

It starts with turning the bath a dark blue, then after around a minute a pink, yellow and purple start to add to the blue making it become an explosion of colour.

Then there is a wonderful surprise for you in the centre of the bath bomb. However, I'm not going to tell you as it would spoil the excitement. I don't know how to describe the scent but it matches the beauty of the product itself.

All I have to say is make sure to add this to your shopping list next time you're in a Lush store!
If you've used this bath bomb before, what did you think?

My Night Skin Care Routine!

Hi Everyone!

As we know, Winter is weeks away! Even though it is one of the most wonderful and beautiful times of year it can do a lot of damage to our skin. I have a set skin care routine for all year round too keep my skin looking fresh and hydrated!

After snuggling into my pajamas and tying my hair back I wash my face with 'Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash'. My skin is very acne prone due to it being slightly oily. However, this face wash works as it is oil free and I find it unblocks pores well. I use this to remove the makeup and make my skin feel fresh and treated.

Secondly, I use 'Witch Hazel'. This is a herbal liquid that is used to clear up break outs and acts as a second cleanse for the skin to make sure it is 100% makeup or dirt free! I buy this from my local chemist/drugstore or you can buy it from retailers such as Boots. Apply it with a cotton wool pad, onto red or acne prone areas and leave to dry into your skin. Don't be afraid to be generous!

Finally, I use a 'Olay Essentials Complete Care Night Cream' Moisturizer. This product is supposed to care for normal, dry and oily skin. I love using this moisturizer as your skin can feel slightly tight after using the 'Witch Hazel' and it makes my skin relax and feel soft and hydrated.

As you can see all of these products are cheap and all high street brands.
What's your favourite product of your night skin care routine?
